My name is Norma Engel.  My husband Jack and I  presently live in Troutville, VA which is only 8 miles from Roanoke, VA.  This is in the beautiful Roanoke Valley between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Alleghany Mountains.  A very lovely part of this country. I moved here, from Florida where we lived 40 years, 5 years ago

My love for Shelties came from a friend in Florida, who had a Sheltie,  From the time I saw Beau I was infatuated….. I finally found a nice little Sheltie for myself.  Her name was Foxfire's Shaded Glory.  I really think Glory came from a back yard breeder.  We purchased Glory when she was 15 months old and she didn’t bark at all.  She stayed in a corner all the time.  When she finally came out of the corner she explored every corner of my house and swimming pool area.  Finally we convinced Glory that she had a great life and then her heart was mine.  Glory had a stroke when she was 6 years old and passed to the Rainbow Bridge. I was heartbroken.

I searched and searched for another Sheltie.  I finally found a breeder Dori Gibbs (Stadler now).  I convinced her that I needed one of her Shelties.  She had a 6 months old girl that she was willing to sell me with a contract.  I willingly signed the contract that stated that I would breed the girl to a boy of Dori’s choice and give her pick puppy out of the litter.  Well, I took my sweet Warmwinds Forever Fancy “Molly” home that day.  I stayed friends with Dori, and the result of Molly’s breeding gave me 7 beautiful puppies (all girls). Dori took Warmwinds Ribbons, Warmwinds Sunspun Taffy, and Warmwinds Make Mine Mink home with her.  We sold two beautiful little girls to a nursing home where they made everyone very happy, Warmwinds Lil’Bit of Mischief “Missy” stayed home with me. All four of the girls earned their Championship and some were multiple Best of Breed Winners.

Missy went to the National Sheltie Show in Lincolnshire, IL, when she was three years old and took 3rd place in the Open Bitch Class.  Missy was a Mom twice.  One of her babies is Warmwinds Into Mischief “Morgan”.  Morgan still lives with me and she is now 10 years old.  Morgan was a Mom once and gave me a gorgeous boy.  His name is Ch. U-Ch. WarmWinds Bourbon d'Bear OA OAJ CGC (Teddybear). Another one, Warmwinds Summer Heart, lives with Jim and Linda Darby in Ft. Myers, FL. Another one “Abby” lives in Beverly Hills, CA with another nice family.  Two of the boys live in Florida with good families and my beautiful Warmwinds Wine and Roses “Rosie” lives with me.  Rosie had the misfortune of a very serious injury when she was well on her way to becoming a Champion.  But Rosie is very pretty, and very special to us, as our house dog, and lives the life of Riley.

My friend Susan Brillhart and I co-own my Hartwyn Foxglove Lil’ Liza Jane .  Liza is a very special lovely girl who is shy. From one of her litters Susan and I have daughter Ch. Warmwinds Hartwyn Autumn Blaze. Autumn lives with me.  She is a cutie.  Her three brothers live in Florida and South Carolina.

All four of my Shelties live in our home and are members of our family.  I am hoping that Autumn will be the girl who will become our next show girl Champion.
